Dismantling Racism in Your Classroom - 1

Part I. Identity and positionality: how who you are impacts your class

  • Ended
  • 65 US dollars
  • Online Workshop

Service Description

This 3-hour workshop (the first of a three part series) is designed to give dance educators the tools to build an anti-racist classroom. In this workshop teachers will be asked to consider their own intersectional identities, biases (implicit and explicit), and methods to support all students in anti-racist education. Understanding that both reflection and action are integral to growth in this area, participants will have the opportunity to think through challenging scenarios, and develop tools for action. Throughout this weekend professional development, teachers will work collaboratively to create a new and improved paradigm for anti-racist dance education.
